Jason Braswell and Terri Fujioka-Lilley began their legal careers at powerhouse firms on opposite sides of the mainland: Jason started out in the Chicago office of Skadden Arps, while Terri started in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins. They bumped into each other in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and the result is Braswell Fujioka-Lilley LLP. We believe that we’ve built something special out here, and we’d love a chance to prove it to you. Our specialty is helping businesses and organizations with their most challenging litigation matters, but we’re also pretty good at litigating on behalf of individuals and providing strategic counsel on a wide range of legal issues businesses face.
Terri has the astute legal acumen and creative-problem solving approach that can develop solutions to benefit clients before a conflict is dragged into court. If a dispute makes it to court, Terri is an extraordinary, tireless, and focused litigator intent on achieving an outcome that best suits her client’s needs.
Terri cut her teeth at Latham & Watkins, in its Securities & Professional Liability and White Collar Defense & Investigations practice groups. It was there that she began her winning track record in “bet-the-company” litigation, D&O advancement and indemnification, SEC & qui tam defense, and internal investigations related to FCPA and securities matters. Her clients have spanned the nation and the globe. In addition, she has extensive experience on both sides of criminal matters—having served as an award-winning Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Hilo, Kealakekua, and Waimea and as a successful criminal defense attorney in state and federal courts.
In law school, Terri was the Editor-in-Chief of the Southern California Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. Following graduation, she served as a law clerk to Chancellor William B. Chandler III and Vice Chancellor John W. Noble of the Delaware Court of Chancery, and the following year to the Honorable Ferdinand F. Fernandez of the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Jason comes to BFL from a background litigating at Skadden on behalf of some of the world’s largest companies, but he also has the experience of being owner/salesperson/janitor at a true mom-and-pop operation in Kona: Big Island Running Company. Whatever the size of your operation or problem, Jason will take a pragmatic approach in formulating a solution that is effective and efficient. While he loves helping his clients succeed in litigation, he also finds it equally (if not more) rewarding to help a client put in place a carefully drafted agreement or well-thought-out strategy that keeps them out of litigation in the first place.
